Building Spaces That Don't Burn Down

Yeah, we said it. After watching too many communities struggle with wildfires, we've made it our mission to design buildings that can actually handle what nature throws at 'em.

Fire-resistant architecture project

We're not your typical architecture firm

Started this practice back in 2013 after the BC wildfires changed how we think about buildings. Turns out, making something look good AND keeping it standing through a firestorm is kinda our thing now.

We've spent years figuring out which materials work, which don't, and how to design spaces that people actually want to live in - not just fireproof bunkers. Our clients range from families in wildfire zones to commercial developers who've realized that "fireproof" is a pretty good selling point.

FEATURED PROJECT

When the smoke cleared, this one was still standing

Our clients wanted a mountain home but weren't thrilled about the whole "losing it to wildfire" thing. So we designed it with ember-resistant vents, fire-rated glazing, and materials that don't turn into kindling. When the Kelowna fires came through, their neighbors weren't so lucky. Theirs? Not even singed.

What We Actually Do

More than just drawing pretty buildings - we're making sure they stick around

🏠

Wildfire-Resistant Residential Design

Your home shouldn't be a tinder box. We design residences that look great and can handle ember storms, radiant heat, and direct flame contact. It's about smart material choices and understanding how fires actually behave.

🏢

Commercial Fire Safety Planning

Got a business in a high-risk area? We'll help you design spaces that protect your investment and keep your people safe. From office buildings to retail spaces, we've worked with everything.

🧱

Sustainable Building Materials Consulting

Not all "fire-resistant" materials are created equal, and some are total greenwashing BS. We'll tell you what actually works and won't trash the planet in the process.

🌆

Urban Resilience Master Planning

Working with municipalities to plan neighborhoods that won't go up like dominos. It's about spacing, materials, green buffers, and making sure the whole community has a fighting chance.

Green Building Certification

Yeah, we do LEED and all that. But we're more interested in buildings that are actually sustainable, not just ones with enough points to get a plaque. Real performance over paperwork.

🚨

Emergency Response Architecture

Designing facilities that need to function during disasters - evacuation centers, fire stations, emergency operations centers. When everything else is falling apart, these need to work.

Sustainable materials

Fire resistance shouldn't cost the Earth

Look, we could wrap everything in concrete and call it a day. But that's boring and terrible for the environment. We've spent years testing materials that do both - protect against fire AND don't have a massive carbon footprint. Turns out, you can have your cake and not burn it down too.

Our approach combines traditional fire-smart building practices with modern sustainable materials. We're talking fiber cement, treated timber, metal roofing, and smart landscaping that creates natural fire breaks. Nothing magical - just good science and real-world testing.

Our Sustainability Approach

Ready to build something that'll actually last?

Whether you're planning a new build, retrofitting an existing property, or just want to chat about making your space more resilient, we're here for it. No corporate speak, no BS - just honest advice from people who've been doing this for over a decade.
